Message from Dean Carmie Garzione - December 2024 Newsletter

Monday

Dear College of Science community,

Please join me in celebrating the graduating class of fall 2024! On December 19, we will recognize nearly 500 outstanding graduates from the College of Science, who have worked hard to reach this milestone. Graduates, your perseverance and dedication is inspiring, and we are grateful that you pursued your academic journey with us. I encourage you to continue learning and exploring. You are a Wildcat for life, and I hope you stay connected to our College of Science community as you go on to your next adventures.

I am pleased to announce the 20th annual College of Science Lecture Series will debut on Thursday, March 6, 2025. This year’s series, Can We Talk? The Science of Communication, will feature four engaging talks from University of Arizona faculty members whose research explores various aspects of communication — from dog-human communication, to bilingual communication, to A.I. and computer communication, and what extraterrestrial communication from the cosmos might look like. More information on the Lecture Series can be found here. I hope you join us at Centennial Hall in March.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to all of you for a joyful and peaceful holiday season. I look forward to seeing you in 2025!

Sincerely,

Carmie Garzione
Dean, College of Science
