Honors Convocation

Honor Cords

The College of Science holds an Honors Convocation each fall to recognize students who have achieved academic excellence in undergraduate degree programs for the previous academic year. The event not only celebrates the hard work of students, but also serves to recognize the family and friends who support them.

The information form to mail or pick up Honor Cords is now closed.

Awardees will receive more information via email in late September.

Please note: Due to pass/fail grading changes for the Spring 2020, only units with letter grades will count toward the requirements for the Spring 2020 semester Dean’s list or Dean’s list with Distinction. However, as long as students meet GPA requirements, pass/fail credit hours for the Spring 2020 semester will count towards Annual Distinction awards. Please check your unofficial transcript in the UAccess Student Center under the Fall 2019 and/or Spring 2020 semesters to see what top award you should be eligible to receive.

You will be invited back to receive the honor cord you earned this year. Alternately, we will mail it to you if you cannot attend in person if you reside outside of Pima County.

We include instructions with your invitation allowing you 6 weeks to pick up your honor cord after the ceremony. If you failed to pick it up or did not contact us at bljohnson@arizona.edu, the cords will no longer be available. We do not order more until the following year, to meet the demand of the expected need for that upcoming ceremony.

We typically mail cords only to students who are physically located outside of Pima county who cannot come to campus. Although, due to COVID-19, we are allowing most honor cords to be mailed if necessary.

Yes, but you will need to email bljohnson@arizona.edu prior to pick up to let us know.
