Great Arizona ShakeOut to Take Place Oct. 19
On Oct. 19 at 10:19 a.m. PT, you can join people across Arizona practice proper earthquake safety on International ShakeOut Day by registering here.
Arizona has many active faults and earthquakes - which can be viewed on the Natural Hazards in Arizona webmap – and it is critical to be prepared for what to do in the event of an earthquake.
Folks are encouraged to register and participate in the Great Arizona ShakeOut on Oct. 19 at 10:19 a.m. PT as enrollment and participation is key to measuring the success of ShakeOut and assessing earthquake safety awareness in the state of Arizona.
This is the 12th consecutive year that the Arizona Geological Survey and Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs have promoted ShakeOut as the best practice to employ during ground shaking that accompanies moderate to large earthquakes. There are currently over 38,000 participants enrolled in the Arizona ShakeOut, mostly from Yuma, Maricopa, and Yavapai counties.
