Jeremiah Hackett

Dr. Jeremiah Hackett was named Associate Dean for Graduate & Postdoctoral Affairs in the College of Science in January of 2022. Hackett has been with the University of Arizona since 2007 and serves as an Associate Professor and Associate Department Head of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

Prior to joining the university, he received his BS in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his PhD in Genetics from the University of Iowa. He was also a CICOR Postdoctoral Scholar in Biology at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Dr. Hackett’s research interests include endosymbiosis and genome evolution in microbial eukaryotes and coral-algal symbiotic relationships.
