How’d you choose your major/minor?
In high school, I was fortunate to have an opportunity to work in a research lab, and my love for science only grew from there. With little experience and only a high school education, I found myself asking so many questions about the why and how. Coming into college, I knew that biochemistry would be a great bridge between many areas of science to better understand the research techniques I was already learning.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
The Weaver Science and Engineering Library 3rd floor has been my second home since the first week of college. As I introduced it to many of my close friends and classmates, it has become the community spot for all things STEM in my student life. I find that amidst my sometimes chaotic coursework and stressful schedule, my support system is the friends and peers that surround me during the late night library hours.
What has been the highlight of your college career thus far?
Last year for my spring break, I took a trip with my closest friends to San Diego and we camped on the beach. It was my first time every sleeping in a tent or cooking my food over a fire, but I found out it was something I really enjoyed, and have continued to do with my friends since. I am so grateful for the opportunities at the University of Arizona to meet so many students of very diverse backgrounds and interests, and I have loved to see how my interests have changes because of them.
