Daniel Apai
Daniel Apai is the Associate Dean for Research in the College of Science. He also serves as a Professor of Astronomy and Planetary Science at the University of Arizona.
Apai obtained his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Heidelberg University and joined the Arizona faculty in 2011. His research focuses on exoplanets and astrobiology, with a particular emphasis on habitable planets and planetary systems. He leads large, multi-disciplinary programs to understand the formation and habitability of nearby planetary systems, to search for giant and earth-like exoplanets, and to characterize and map exoplanet and brown dwarf atmospheres. He is also leading space mission concepts and co-leading related technology development programs.
