How’d you choose your major/minor?
When I was in high school, I particularly excelled in my biology and language classes and felt really passionate about these subjects. My aunt recommended that I study to become a speech-language pathologist because it combines both my passions, interests, and academic strengths. I decided to also major in Spanish because it has always been a goal of mine to become bilingual/multilingual and there is a high demand for multilingual SLP

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is either the turtle pond or by the observatory! I love the shade from the trees around the observatory and the smell of the orange blossoms in the spring is divine. I find it very peaceful there. I love the turtle pond because I love animals and it brings me so much joy to look at the cute turtles swimming and sunning themselves!

What has been the highlight of your college career thus far?
I think the highlight of my college career has been "finding my place" in life. As soon as I got involved on campus with my lab and started making connections with the SLHS faculty and taking classes in subjects that I love, I had an "aha" moment. I finally found a profession I could picture myself loving for the rest of my life. I was also struggling to find myself and establish myself as an adult, and coming to the University of Arizona, surrounding myself with supportive people in my sorority, lab, major, and now the ambassador program, I feel like I have been able to grow and develop into the young woman I am today.
