Major & Minor
Major: Bioinformatics
Minor: Physiology and Medical Sciences
Hometown
Golden, CO
How’d you choose your major/minor?
I was interested in a lot of different things and I originally was going to major in Neuroscience, but when I learned about Bioinformatics, I was drawn to it because of its uniqueness as well as its application. I wanted to have the option to work right out of undergrad if I changed my mind about graduate school. I am also interested in genetics which is a very different application of computer science that I didn't know was possible until researching my major.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Health Sciences Library because it is always pretty quite and only a few people are ever there. I also love it because there are some really interesting medical books to look at during study breaks. The best kept secret is that there are these huge legos on the third floor that form little cubicles that you can study in.
What has been the highlight of your college career thus far?
My highlight of college so far is all of my research opportunities. I am genuinely interested in what I am doing in my research labs and I really enjoy sharing that information with other people.
