College of Science Development Office Staff Announcement
The College of Science is pleased to welcome two new members to its Development Office and share the appointment of another member to a new role.
Kasey Barghout
Kasey Barghout joined the College of Science in May as the Assistant Director of Donor Stewardship and Alumni Engagement. A native Tucsonan, Barghout attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where she received her bachelor’s in business administration and her MBA while working at the Gonzaga University Alumni Association as an Alumni Event Coordinator.
Upon returning to Tucson in 2017, Barghout worked for Salpointe Catholic High School as the Manager of Alumni, Parent Relations and Special Events. Barghout then joined the University of Arizona team, where she worked for the Eller College of Management as the Associate Director of Special Events, responsible for working with the Eller National Board of Advisors and creating, coordinating, and implementing the logistics of donor and alumni special events executed in the Dean’s office and for the Development and Alumni Relations team.
Barghout is a proud member of the Greater Tucson Leadership Class of 2020, an Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum member, and President of the Tucson Zags Alumni Chapter. She is excited to join the College of Science team!
Kristen Lamott
Kristen Lamott joined the College of Science Development Office in 2021 as the Administrative Assistant. In March 2023, Lamott was appointed Program Coordinator for Alumni Engagement & Donor Events, where she works collaboratively with the College of Science and University of Arizona Foundation.
Driven by a passion for fostering meaningful connections, Lamott works to strengthen our alumni community through events that celebrate the initiatives and achievements of the College of Science, including Homecoming, Galileo Circle Scholars Celebration, Galileo Circle Awards Dinner, Alumni of the Year, and Lecture Series, among many others.
Lamott grew up in rural Pennsylvania and moved to Arizona in May 2008. A proud alumna of the University of Arizona, she received her BA in interdisciplinary studies with a science, technology, health, and society emphasis. She is also the Science Administration representative for the College of Science Staff Advisory Council and was awarded Employee of the Month from the University of Arizona Foundation in March 2023.
Daniel Cota
Daniel Cota joined the College of Science Development team as an Administrative Assistant in May after working for a physical therapy clinic for six years. In that clinic, his passion for helping people flourished as he worked with patients every day as well as served as a Front Office Coordinator for two years. In his current role as Administrative Assistant, he serves many areas within the development office, including processing and acknowledging gifts, managing calendars, and communicating with the University of Arizona Foundation and other units.
Cota was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and is an alumnus of the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. When not supporting the College of Science Development Office, he spends time with his wife and daughter going to the zoo, running around the park, among other fun outings. He also enjoys staying active, following sports and enjoys playing golf.
