Alex Kimura

Alex Kimura is the Career Coach for Earth, Physical, & Space Sciences, and Mathematics & Computational Sciences. Prior to joining the College of Science, Alex has worked at the U of A in multiple capacities, including serving as an Academic Coach and Instructional Specialist with Think Tank, as well as Assistant Learning Specialist with C.A.T.S. Academics. Through these roles, he has provided holistic support to students through group and individualized coaching to develop their academic skills and social capital. 

Alex grew up in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. After completing his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University, he pursued his master’s degree in exercise & sport science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before coming to Tucson, Alex spent several years working in college athletics at multiple institutions in areas such as academics, business operations, event management, fundraising, student-athlete development, and ticketing. 

During his free time, Alex enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and watching the latest TV shows and movies. He’s a big Buckeye, Tar Heel, and of course Wildcat fan!
