Mitchell Rutherford

Career Coach
Mitchell Rutherford is the Career Coach for Computer Science, Mathematics, Earth, Physical & Space Sciences. Prior to joining the College of Science Career Center, Mitchell taught high school biology where he discovered a passion for mentoring his students into higher education and meaningful careers. He is excited to meet his students, discover their passions and strengths, and create robust plans for their future.
 
Mitchell is an Arizona Native, born and raised in Phoenix before moving to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and master’s degree in Education, he fell in love with Tucson and started teaching biology in the public schools.
 
Outside of career coaching, Mitchell can be found meditating, growing vegetables, running, biking with his toddler in-tow, camping, cooking, and competing with Tucson Men’s ultimate frisbee team. Mitchell is also honored to be a yoga teacher and a mindfulness meditation teacher.
