Ben credits much of his success today to his mentors and the opportunities he had as a student in Molecular & Cellular Biology.

Elisa works as a trauma therapist predominantly with children and laid the foundation for her career during her time as an undergrad in the College of Science.

Kevin is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Tucson and has been able to take experiences from his time in HAS and apply them to his career.

Taylor obtained her Ph.D. and now works as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Australia, where she engineers protein nanocompartments.

Colin graduated from the College of Science with a double major and is now an MD/PhD student in the MSTP program at the College of Medicine, pursuing his PhD in the College of Optical Sciences.

Craig was a member of the Swim & Dive National Championship team at UArizona and excelled in the classroom as a double major in Biochemistry and Physiology before earning his doctorate and working in healthcare.

John Edwards earned his B.S. in Engineering Physics from the U of A in 1961, as part of the program’s first graduating cohort. He went on to complete a master’s degree at the Stevens Institute of Technology and a PhD from the University of Illinois. His distinguished career spanned decades in the semiconductor industry, including work at Bell Labs, leadership roles at American Microsystems and Intel, and service as chair of the International Reliability Physics Symposium. The Department of Physics announced the establishment of the John R. and Karen Edwards Graduate Scholarship, made possible through a generous $90,000 commitment over two years from Dr. Edwards and his wife, Karen Edwards.
