How’d you choose your major/minor?
I was inspired by a psychology class in high school. Then, I realized that the University of Arizona had a very good psychology program, which cemented my decision. I chose Psychological Sciences over Psychology because I was Pre-Health for three years. The B.S. version of the major lent itself to being Pre-Health because I could get credit for the introductory science courses.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the bottom floor of ILC because there's a beautiful sitting area around the trees. It looks especially nice in the early morning. The other favorite I can think of is the Bookstore in the Student Union. There's a very conveniently placed Starbucks and there used to be a lot of sitting areas inside too. For my first couple years, I used to go there whenever there was a gap between classes because it was always quiet and coffee adjacent.
What has been the highlight of your college career thus far?
My time as a clinical research assistant at BUMC. I had such a wonderful time working in the hospital setting and learned a lot about both medical and research procedures. The second and probably equivalent highlight is my time in the SuRRF lab. There I found a really amazing team and my mentor pushes us to always be working on something. It's with them that I submitted my first abstract to a research convention, which was very exciting.
